Almudaina Palace


Also known as the Royal Alcazar of the city of Palma, the Almudaina Palace is one of the royal residences. This palace is a National Heritage of Spain. Although it is not the place where they settle during their holidays in Mallorca, it is the place where they hold the royal welcome in Mallorca every summer.


The Almudaina Palace dates from the 16th century. It is located right in front of the Cathedral of Palma. The union of these two beautiful buildings creates an awesome spot. Since the Almudaina Palace was built, it has been adopting different styles, showing the different building styles that can be found in Mallorca.


Indoors of the Almudaina Palace, you can find different areas that you will love. A weapons courtyard, also known as the parade ground, and from which you can access other rooms such as the Arab baths or the Gothic hall. You can visit it from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00.


Churches of Palma


Another of the monuments to visit are all the different churches that exist in the old town of Palma. In the center of Palma, you can find a variety of churches, most of them are Gothic style.


There are routes to get to know them that consist of strolling through the old town of Palma. Mallorca, thanks to its past, has a wide range of beautiful churches. The streets of Palma de Mallorca are full of art. In addition to the different types of buildings in Mallorca, in all the squares and streets of Palma you can find art. Sculptures from all ages.


There are plenty of art galleries to visit in Palma. Places such as Plaza de San Nicolás or Calle San Feliu are increasingly popular to enjoy modern art in Palma. The entire Bay of Palma has kilometers of walk promenade so that everyone can enjoy it.


A good plan could be having a walk along the Paseo Marítimo of Palma enjoying the views of the thousands of ships. You will discover the authentic “Llauts”, the typical Mallorcan-style wooden boats. It is very common among Majorcans to maintain the family “llaut” and enjoy it in the good weather seasons in Mallorca.
